Ferry to P.E.I.

This morning we left Halifax in the fog to board the ferry for P.E.I. By the time we arrived at the ferry the fog was gone and it was a beautiful day for a crossing.

East Coast Lobster Fest

We went out to the Dauphinee Inn in Hubbards for a traditional lobster dinner and ceilidh (party). There was a three piece band to entertain us as we had dinner, and of course the girls had to get up and do some dancing! (Multiple pictures. Touch the picture to change.)

A Surprise Visit

One of our members was surprised at dinner when her great aunt and uncle, then later another great aunt and her daughter showed up. She had not seen them in years. We did a little mini concert for our unexpected guests in the restaurant. It was a very touching evening!

Terence Bay - S.S. Atlantic

We visited Terence Bay. Prior to the Titanic, the worst maritime disaster in Canadian history was the S.S. Atlantic in 1873. This luxury liner was also of the White Star line. Terence Bay is the sight of many of the graves from this disaster as the fishermen of this town went out to help.

Cathedral Church of All Saints - Halifax

We performed at the cathedral. What a wonderful space to sing in! The girls sang their sacred and inspirational repertoire, but at the end the minister asked if we could sing "Edelweiss". The girls were thrilled. They really wanted to sing that, but it wasn't exactly church rep, so I didn't have it on the program. It was incredible in that space!!! (Multiple pictures. Hopewell Rocks

We visited Hopewell Rocks where the tide rises and falls up to 16 metres every 12 or so hours. Our guide was wonderful, explaining how it all works (much more than just the moon). He took us to sea floor (it was low tide) where we had a chance to explore. One area of caves in the cliff wall he calls his "office". We took the opportunity to sing in his office. By the end of the song we had a pretty good crowd listening. The guide said the choir "made his day!" One of his favourite tours ever! (Multiple pictures. Touch the picture to change.)

Magnetic Hill

We just visited Magnetic Hill. We had to do the whole thing twice (backwards, frontwards - backwards, frontwards) because the girls were trying to figure it out. The second time they were doing experiments with water on the floor of the bus to check the slope of the hill! (Multiple pictures. Touch to change the picture.)
