Dinner in Galway
Last night we got back into Galway after our drive along the coast and went to find somewhere to eat. We found a place called "Fat Freddy's" down a pedestrian walkway with a number of restaurants and small shops. We took over their patio and ordered. The food was fantastic.

Day 4 - Travelling to Cork
We are up an traveling to Cork today. It is a day of "Irish Mist". Even so we have been making some site-seeing stops. On our way so far we have seen a prehistoric stone defensive circle, an earthworks "fairy" circle of trees, and the Cliffs of Moher. I'll send pictures a bit later.
Pictures from Day 3
Hello All
We started out our day by heading to Kylemore Abbey. Originally this was Kylemore Castle but eventually it was sold and became an abbey. The little church is absolutely beautiful both outside and in. It is done in gothic style. The kids gave a wonderland concert and we had a full church to watch the performance. We even ran into people from Canada. More than that, from London and one was even from my home church! Never fails, it's the small world thing when you travel.

The Gardens at the Abbey
After the performance we went to the Victorian gardens. They have maintained them just as they would have been historically. It took us over an hour to walk through the gardens. The panorama shows a small section with one of the mountains of this area in the background.

Low Tide
This panorama gives you another view of the area. This one shows one of the inlets from the Atlantic Ocean at low tide as well as the grass that covers this region.

Mountains
The area we were in today is known as Connemara. It is a very rugged area with mountains, peat bogs and grassy fields with lots of sheep. This is the view of the mountains opposite the castle.

Great Day of Singing and Sight Seeing
We've had a great day so far. It's 7:30pm here. Singing at Kylemore Abbey went really well and we have been driving back to Galway along the coast for a couple of hours. It's absolutely beautiful. I'll send a couple of panoramas that I took after we have dinner (and I can connect to wifi).
Tell you more about the day later.
First Performance Day
We are up and out at Kylemore Abbey. It is our first performance day and we sang a bit before leaving this morning and on the bus on the way hear. The church is beautiful. A small chapel decorated in gothic style. I will send a photo later. Have to get ready to sing now!
First Day in Ireland
We've just come back from dinner, which was great! It's just after 8pm here and everyone is settling in to their rooms for some much needed sleep. Very few of us slept on the plane on the way over, so we've been awake since Saturday morning.
The plane ride over was good and this afternoon we visited a place called Clonmacnoise. It is half way across Ireland going from Dublin to Galway. Beautiful ruins of a 6th century monastery. There are also ruins of Viking stone towers. This site has some of the best stone Celtic crosses in the country, many over thousand years old. It was rainy and cold, but actually was a pleasant change from St. Thomas humidity!
After seeing the ruins we travelled to Galway on the west coast of Ireland. The afternoon has all been about trying to keep ourselves awake so that when we wake up tomorrow we will feel like we are in this time zone.
The hostel we are staying in is call "Snoozles". So I suppose that the best way to finish this email is to say that we are all going to 'snoozle' right now!
Goodnight
Arrived Safely In Ireland!
We are here. Just waiting for our coach.

Her First Flight
Hi, this is Hayley writing! Being my first time flying, you could say I was more than a little nervous. With the help of my choir mates (who offered support in the form of thumbs up, pats on the back, and friendly words) I made it after take-off safe and sound without hitch. I am relieved that it wasn't the roller coaster nightmare that I expected!! I owe great thanks to my sister Hannah for hugging me all the way :)
